🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Help with this little figure

Can anyone help with this? I believe it is brass only about 4 1/2 inches in length and 3 1/2 in height

Dodo it is.

Various designs exist but one that appears to be the same as yours sold here (need subscription to see the hammer price). Described as ‘bronze’, which looks right:

Another here, as part of a job lot that included a copper (looks brass to me) penguin and a signed book. The group sold for 121 euros ($132):

I don’t think there’s any particular connection between the three items above, except that the Dutch author Boudewijn Büch had an interest in wildlife from island habitats, particularly islands that were difficult to reach. He wrote a series of non-fiction books on that theme. His book “De Kleine Klonde Dood” however has nothing to do with dodos. It translates as “The Little Blonde Death” and is about a poet who unexpectedly becomes a single father.
