To heavy for aluminium. Its quite magnetic too
What is the size? A pic with a ruler or coins or hand (see the other pic by ticindig) would help. I'm going to guess it's a meteorite or a broken off foot of a cast iron bath tub or stove. Without knowing the size...

Looks like grey iron splatter from a pour that went through sand reclaiming process.

If no foundry or furnace is / was near the recovery site , was slag and discolored (not original to site) fill material evident in the area?

It was a remote place where I found it. I would wonder how an ion tab or slag would end up there
That's the question we ask with all our finds in remote places, some have easy answers, but most stay a mystery. Having said that, I have no idea 'what' it is. I thought it was a stone...lol
