Hello MichaelB, I haven't been in that cave in over30 years, man you brought back some memories. Last time I was there it was junky from all the people that went to drink beer and cool off in the cave. I don't recall ever finding any old markings as I was not there to treasure hunt. I would like to hear if you find any more info.
