Stopped at an older rock home with a good sized back yard and front. When I first approached the guy he said, ā Oh My Brother already hunted itā, and as I always do, ā Well do You mind if I give it a shot anyway?ā He said, āSure, why notā. Off I went!!!!
Only found a Canadian Cent and one Wheat Cent in the front. A lot of swinging for thatš³.
I moved onto the back and about 30 minutes into the back yard , I got a nice 89 on the Deus2. I was thinking Dime. About 4ā down the first thing I pulled out was a large rusted nail.
The next scoop about 7ā I saw what I was least expecting, a 1942 Walker! Checked the hole again and got another large rusty nail. Checked the hole again and there was still something in it. Turned out to be an old lead printing plate about 11ā down. Thatās a lot of stuff masking the Half!! Great signal. Glad I dig all the good signals!!! Also got an old buckle , maybe a sash buckleš¤·š¼āāļø.
Walker-1942
Wheat-1913
Canadian Cent-1982
Silver#50fty!!!!
Ok so I go inside after the guy invited Me in, and specifically made sure to sayā ok so I can keep all the coins I found right?ā
He said ā oh yeah for sureā. So I laid everything out on his little table. He liked the old printing plate so
I just handed it to him to keep. After he saw the clad, Wheat and Canadian Penny then I got the Walking Liberty out, and as soon as I sat it down, he grabbed it up, pulled his wallet out and threw a $5 bill back on the table. Iām likeā Hey, No thatās not gonna work!ā He saidā Iāll give You $20ā!
I was like āno thatās not the agreement that We made before I even got it outā
After talking through it and trying over and over finally he saidā ok, I wouldnāt have even known it was there and You did ask before You laid it outā He handed it back after he took pictures of it. I thanked him, and eventually left. He was a nice guy, just at that moment š³
I stress this because Iāve found that most people once they see an old Silver coin, their minds change pretty quick, so take this with caution. Sometimes you can tell theyāre like that and itās best not to even show them the Silver after You get the permission to keep the coins. But sometimes not!! Iāve actually lost a few keepers due to this.
Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!!!!
Ladies Victorian Era Sash Buckle. I straightened it out.
