Thanks Ivan, I will clean them tomorrow and then take better pictures and post them. That will help I'm sure. About the "horse harness", at least that was my first thought, is that a modern harness or something that is not in use anymore? Sorry for my ignorance on this matter but I'm not too know-legable on horse tact.

for hitching two horses together side by side so they work together as a "team" -- modern ones look similar but those are clearly old plain to see --Ivan

Thanks Ivan,
I found those both near each other in about 4 inches of dirt. Had to chop some plant roots away to be able to pull them out so I know they have been down there a long time. Done some research before I went there and it was an old pioneer town in the 1800's. On the way home, we decided to pull off and check some trails through the woods and thats where we found these. Didnt stay long because of the typical florida afternoon storm popping up. Lots of wildlife was there too watching us.

It doesnt look like a gun because i have the pieces positioned wrong. ha. but it looked like it to me. still curious though but will get a better idea once the dirt and rust comes off.

Here are more pictures from today after I cleaned them up as much as I could. The one that looked like a gun to me kind of broke apart. I used some WD-40 on them because I read it on another thread that you could to disolve some of the rust.

Can't say that the one item is or was ever part of a gun , but the old hitch is neat. Good find. Monty

Yes I should agree about the gun. But what the heck was it then. I looked at how the electrolisis machine is made but too afraid to try that. ha. About the harness, I have looked online to try to find any images of one and havent found one yet. Does anyone know where is the best place to look or have ideas how old it is? Im just really curious.
Thank you all,
Malady
