But there are rumors that gold shipment was transferred "previously" to a German U Boat. It has never been demonstrated that I-52 transported at the time of sinking some gold. Everything about German U has many mysteries and dark spots. I found one near Gibraltar (Spanish waters) with platinum loading. Very interestingly, nearby there is a beach called "the German Creek".

Great overview, ShipwreckHunter. As a researcher, I am always curious as to how these things become known. Do you happen to know where Paul got his research on the I-52?

No sympathy from me. They just might have been the sub that killed my namesake and had my father swimming in the Pacific for a couple days after a Jap sub slammed torpedoes into the Aircraft Carrier "Wasp". The only submariners I give a damn about are American and those fine Brits we outdrank when we all pulled in together. I think it was Charleston SC, but for some reason, I just can't seem to remember...LOL

Darn efficient Jap subs. Went down like rocks and stayed there...

The Italians had the largest submarine fleet serving in the Mediterranean during WWII.

Made up of six battleships, 19 cruisers and 59 destroyers . . .

Kevin, I don't know much about subs, but I do know a guy that found one in about 90 feet of water in Chile.
He says it's a German sub and he's looking for someone to salvage it with him
I'm not that guy. Do you think it's worth going after.
The guy that found it is a researcher, not a diver. He thinks it sank at the end of the war.

Kevin, it's quite obvious to me that the Brits go by reputation only, but when it gets real, the Ameicans win! The proofs in the Puddin', not videotape!

As I have said on many occasions, if you hadn't cheated, hid behind trees, wore green and shot at us before we were ready to receive fire. You would not have won in 1776......sigh.

I have to go out. When I get back. I'll email you a name and email address. Maybe BVI and his friend might help you.
