Searching a yard yesterday I came up with this intersting Eagle...I think it is from a flag pole but have no idea as to its age. Property owner said they had never had a flag or flag pole in the yard...anyway it is an eagle approximately 3 1/2 inches long, broken wings. Very detailed feathers and head. Very heavy for it's size..lead or bronz? There is a rusted post in the bottom which made me believe it is from so sort of flag pole. Found about 8 inches down. Found in Plainfield, IN.
The site is not historic as far as we know and the home was built in 1947. When I cleaned it with soapy water and tooth brush you could see faint goldis color coming thru but didn't try cleaning it any more than that. No pix yet. digital camera not working....
