WTG, hey did you get some of your finds published on the white's website. I could swear I saw your picture there.
Yes I did Gibbsium, I would write them a story about this ring but they will only publish 2 stories a year, I suppose that I could wait a while and write them another story about this ring but heck by that time I might have another story to write. I am might proud of that ring set that I found on whites website. The day after I found this class ring I went to another lake that I haven't been to in a while and found another engagement ring and I'll post it soon. Enjoy!!!!!!!! ;D

I merged your 2 Posts together, because it's always better
to have the Full story.

The only way this would of made a better story, it would have been that you had to wrestle alligators and water moccasins in trying to retrieve the ring.

Nice to have you as a fellow member of this forum.

You're a credit to the hobby, or addiction, whatever it is, you give a good name to MD'ers. Nice work. HH

So in your circumstances, Lake hunting with that Whites Beach ID, do you tie off your detector to you, and then dive under the water to check the lake bottom when ya get a good signal, or do you use a long handled scoop?...What do you do with your detector when your 10 ft out, get a signal ?

Iam curious, as I have never done any MD in the water like that....(At least not YET,LOL)

I use a long handled sand scoop and just look where my coil is when I get a signal then scoop, I also have snorkel mask and fins I've used in a couple of the state parks, I haven't been to Lake Michigan yet, I've been mostly working the local swimming holes, my brothers wife told me about a spot where they use to go when she was a kid and I'm thinking about giving that a try maybe this coming weekend.

Giant,

Great deed. I love hearing these great stories. Hope whenever I get surgery on my hands I will be able to return to detecting and perhaps someday find a ring to return.

I salute you!!

Several members said that I'd have good Karma for returning the Hog Gold ring and lo and behold Karma didn't take but one day, the next morning I went to a lake and found an engagement ring, it was pretty deep too, it took about five fast scoops with my sandscoop but here it is. I kept forgetting to post it here but I immediately posted it the next day on the Whites forum! Maybe there really is something to that karma stuff. I was only knee deep in water where I found it. I'm glad I got a water machine especially for the hot weather we've had this year. I bought it last year at the beginning of July cause it was really getting warm and for several years I kept saying one of these days I'm getting a water detector.
