I found this in the Michigan U.P., its made of copper and I have no idea what it is. Is it native american?

There is no markings or stamps. It appears to be hand made from float copper.

Well . you're in copper country.
It doesn't need to be float copper. And looks worked far beyond just banging on a piece of float.

I've no idea what it is.
A gorget was first thought. Why the tang on one side...Would be a question if it is.

Heel plates , I've not seen a tang one side of. More often C shaped.

Great find, and welcome from upstate NY. Why would something that small need all of those holes? A very interesting piece.
