I found this while harvesting clay for pottery wheel. I think it's an old fishing hook

Doesn't look like any part of any fish hook I have ever seen. Do you have a size for it? Maybe post a photo with a quarter or ruler with it so we can see the size?

I get the feeling the wire would have made a full loop. Other than that, I have nothing.

Not much yet. We have just started messing around on the pottery wheel and trying to save money by harvesting clay from our property.
We have just learned how to center, open, and pull walls. It's incredibly addictive.

I don't make pottery but I do collect a little. I especially like face jugs.
