i never thought i would find one of these buttons here in Texas

Hey Tnet i went back to the 1880's house today i was there for about 20 min. when i got this beauty i never though i would find a military button out here in Texas on the back it says phila Horstmann i think it from the Indian wars i think the button is from 1870-1893 if it is not will somebody please ID it this tops every button i have found thanks for looking Happy Hunting

Actually, with the rich and diverse military history of Texas, I would think military buttons would be rather common finds.

Congrats on your button, but your thinking is a little off. There are military buttons of all kinds in Texas. I have found Republic of Texas Infantry, US Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, Rifleman, and Dragoon buttons in Texas. And I live in Pennsylvania!
