Hey Tnet i went back to the 1880's house today i was there for about 20 min. when i got this beauty :headbang: P1100173.webpP1100174.webp i never though i would find a military button out here in Texas on the back it says phila Horstmann i think it from the Indian wars i think the button is from 1870-1893 if it is not will somebody please ID it this tops every button i have found thanks for looking Happy Hunting :hello:

never stops amazing me the finds people have I found a world war 2 hat pin in the woods here in ann arbor mi some kid probobly stole it from there uncle or grandpa great post

Actually, with the rich and diverse military history of Texas, I would think military buttons would be rather common finds.

Congrats on your button, but your thinking is a little off. There are military buttons of all kinds in Texas. I have found Republic of Texas Infantry, US Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, Rifleman, and Dragoon buttons in Texas. And I live in Pennsylvania!
 

i live way back in the woods though is why i thought i wouldn't find this house site my uncle owns
