Oh man, that can be bad. Never been bit by a spider, but got scorpion stung before, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I hate chiggers, though.
I remember going to Kansas many years ago and everyone was using bug spray for them.I did not recall having them in NY

When I was in the Marine Corp and stationed in North Carolina we would always check each other over when coming back from training in the woods because of ticks. I have had my share of ticks on my body but I was lucky that they were always discovered and removed before they caused any problems! We used to take a lit cigarette and hold the end close to the rear of the tick and it would back out of your skin. I hate those things!!! 🤬
