Ever since I bought my detector around September of last year, I have only been detecting on my property, which consists of about seven acres. Until today, I had found nothing but iron, clad, and various other types of junk. I was becoming discouraged because I live along a highway which has been around since the early 1800's, and was used by Federal troops during the Civil War. I figured I was bound to find something from that era. Well, I think I have found my first bullet, and I am on cloud nine.

I brought it to a friend of mine, who has been detecting for thirty years and has found boxfulls of bullets, and he agrees it is most likely a .32 caliber pistol shot that has been fired. There is no doubt that it is lead. He has invited me over later on this weekend to compare it to some of the others that he has.
Small beans, I know. But admit it...you were probably falling over yourself after finding your first bullet, too!
