Hi everyone. I live in Ventura County California, Simi Valley to be exact and I have been bitten by the detecting bug again in my life. I'm in my mid 60s and I'm interested in finding some lost jewelry and silver coins. About 6 months ago I purchased a Garrett AT Max and now, wanting to search wet saltwater environments, I picked up a Minelab Equinox 800 a month ago. I'm finding deep coins but so far jewlery has pretty much eluded me. I belong to a local long established club here and I'm receiving many good pointers. 30 years ago, being a metal detectorist was a pretty unique hobby. Now it seems that everyone is out there swinging their axes. Thank you moderators for a really interesting and informative website.
