Well we started the hunt right around 8:45 and we planned on hunting 'till late, but right around 3:30 we all agreed that the torrid pace was getting to us all, and besides we all did great. Spencer wanted to go see the Indians play tonight too...so we left right around 4pm.
Spencer was the first to strike silver with a War Nickle and he ended up with__ wheats...
Bob and I will aggregate the totals tomorrow for wheats and mems, but today we hit silver nice too.
I dug a worn (but dated) 1927 SLQ and a ??Merc (will be including the Merc in with the prize wheats)
I'll let Bob and Nate post here with descriptions of their silver finds, but you can see for yourself in the pics the quantity.
Enjoy the pics....and to those that guessed the totals already(contest is posted in General Discussion), you can change your guess by editing your post after seeing these pics if you like. We'll post the cutoff time tomorrow, but if I remember right Bob placed it at Monday morning. The coins are dirty enough so that you cannot accurately guess the number or breakdown of wheats to mems from the pics. It is clear that some foilks guessing so far have not done any research on past wheat finds at the Iceberg
After only two hours digging we took this pic of all our coins on our gloves.

Closeup of Nate's silver after two hours

The four of us after about 7 hrs digging

Total finds laid out on the tailgate of my Element

Nate's silver total

Mirage's silver for the day

My silver for the day

Bob and I will discuss the breakdown and such tomorrow for prizes, but remember, ALL wheats and some silver will be given away (no one's getting my SLQ..sorry...it's my first that actually has a date!
