🔎 UNIDENTIFIED ID on Indian wars brass object

I posted this a while back with a collection of things I found out west at an 1877 Indian wars site. It was the only thing I wasn’t able to ID. It’s made of cast brass and has a bit of red paint still on the back of the piece. I was in a hay field that was very target rich and I found 9 relics for every 10 signals, so not a lot of modern junk. None of the holes are threaded and the large one is mildly oval shaped, which may be from equipment. Thanks
