So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). If you pour vinegar on it and it fizzles it might be calcite

Mountolymp- Thanks, I Tried it, didn't fizzle or anything- vinegar just laid on the surface- clear--

Toddspoint, Might be- it is pretty a pretty hard rock

All, it doesn't look like aquamarine does it? I saw one photo on yahoo images that kinda perhaps looked like it might be- but i can't tell- I'm not good at identifying-

If its aquamarine which i doubt then you can scratch quartz easily

ok thanks i will try that- I kinda doubt it's aquamarine too- probably a quartz- but just to be sure- I'll keep checking out blue green stones- i do have herkimer diamonds (which are quartz i beleive?) so i can see if it will scratch that- I -

Well, I'm looking at images of chrysoprase, but that looks like a dense color, solid to me? The stone i have you can see down into it, it's more clear- it's a little hard to see it in the photos i posted- if you enlarge them you can see down into the stone a little, but not quite as good as looking at the stone in person- looks a bit more like a quartz or aquamarine might be- maybe a bit like flourite?

Well fotos reveal stones found in certain locations. Like plants can be the same species but location makes them differ . accordingly this applies to stones also.

It's Amazonite, a variety of microcline feldspar.

@ Blauer is there a form that is semi transparent? Because i looked it up, and amazonite seem non transparent like turquoise kind of-
