The 12 X 15" Minelab Equinox coil is my favorite one.

When using the pin point option, it's just like all the other MInelab coils. The target signal will be highest when the target is under the center of the coil (or very close to it). I tend to use the "Minelab wiggle" though, by backing off the target until the signal disappears, which results in the target being right off the tip of the coil. I use both methods though, depending on where I'm detecting. Beach and fields, I usually do the wiggle. Turf, grass, sod areas and I tend to use the center pin point more, and my handheld pin pointer. At the beach and in fields, it's less important to make a small clean recovery. In nice grass, I want to be as neat as possible so that I can keep the grass looking like I was never there.
