As a tester of Impact detector as well as a user,,I have assembled some data to help folks get up and running with their new to them Impact detectors.

Folks receiving their Impact detectors read the manual.

Before assembly begins ensure you read assembly instructions in manual.
I have only seen draft of manual,,so still can't comment on it.

Areas to pay attention to when assembling.
Lower shaft coil cable routing.
Entry hole on lower shaft should face towards the back (bottom) if detector is layed on floor.

When you are first assembling use a stable platform to do,,,big table,,floor.
Take your time.

Folks will notice the top half of coil cable will stretch length wise,,,this gives you added clearance for coil cable connection.
Bottom half of coil cable is fixed in length.

When assembling/connecting coil cable,,,both camlocks need to be unlocked and a person will be able to slide upper shaft down into lower shaft to gain clearances needed for assembly.

The connector on the coil cable,,,requires little effort to insure it is lined up correctly,,but new user needs to pay more attention here at first to become familiar.

Upper shaft,,needs to slid in to stem with camlock open,,until the upper rod hits internal stop inside stem.

Rod can be adjusted for length,,but it does have limits.
If going to short,,,user will notice the cable starts binding and pressure is put on the coil,,,causing it to change physical position.

Users of detector,,,experiment a bit for a correct rod length,,,rod does have some increments on it for reference for your proper rod length. Proper posture is important when detecting. Proper rod length for your site when detecting can vary depending on the terrain,,and other things like grass length,,stubble,,etc.
Detector should not have to be force down to the ground,,or forced up to keep coil off the ground,,,,a person will tire out faster with improper rod length set.
With some practice,,this will become second nature.

Coil bolt mounting is easy,,,line up the holes shift coil in lower rod,,,2 washers are used to mount coil,,,be careful not to loose these,,,especially if outside doing assembly/coil changes.

Battery installation is common sense,,,2 things here,,,make sure the cloth like cord in battery compartment is in the groove in the bottom of battery compartment,,and be sure after batteries are installed,,but before door is installed the cloth like cord is not in battery door's way.

The battery door,,,has a very positive fit and lock to it.
Make sure you latch door on both sides,,,you need to physically check for this security here,,,don't base the door being installed properly on your sight,,,actually apply pressure to both sides of door to insure correct installation.
After this process is repeated a few times,,will be second nature.

It is my sincere opinion here for folks who purchase pro pack package,,,if they will use the smallest coil first,,,overall learning curve time is cut with detector.

When you turn on your detector,,,it should be in factory default settings.
To be sure do the following.
After turned on press select button,,then use either up or down button scroll down to FD/save in the settings menu. Next hit the minus button,,you should see the letters Fd in the screen,,,after this hit select button.
This will ensure detector is in factory default settings.
A note here,,detector will time out and go back to detect screen if too much time is allowed,,between the steps noted above. If the detector does time out,,just start over and speed up your process for completing steps above.
Check your backlight setting,,if no backlight is needed turn off.

Users should read manual and become familiar with settings,,especially how to navigate.
User will notice a time out process is built in to detector when making settings changes,,at first this timeout,,,may seem a bit too fast for a user,,,but as they get more familiar and proficient,,the time out process will not be as a possible nuasiance.

New users should focus their first day with detector using 3 tone mode,,this keeps things simple,,,and allows a person to observe some crucial data,,as well as tonal information.

New users should focus on using 14khz exclusively on their first day,,again this keeps things simple and allows for crucial data and tonal information to be heard and observed.

New user should assemble some coins of different denominations,,,nickel,,modern zinc penny,,,older copper penny pre 1982,,dime,,quarter,,Indian head cent if you have one,,, some nails of different sizes, pull tabs,,gold ring,,silver ring if you have one, a few different bottle caps,,a few different aluminum twist bottle tops. and any other things you may have on hand you want to try to detect with this detector. Also user should get bigger piece of iron like a horseshoe.

The goal here is for new user to see how the different items read on the meter.
This how they read is important,,,and this info can and will be seen in the field many times (under ideal conditions).

I recommend the above items be swept at a coil height of around 4-5" of items.
Note,,in case someone gets the bright idea of performing what is called a depth air test,,,seeing how far from coil say a coin of any denomination can be detected by detector. Use of this info,,,is a guide,,and depending on your soil's mineral level content,,,the data gained from air test can be skewed/ reduced (level depends on the level of minerals).

After sweeping these items and noting their readings,,user next needs to learn how to adjust tone breaks and tones while in 3 tone mode.
Doing the above,,,will allow the following,,,changing tone break will force the detector to respond to the tone you set in the range of this tone break.
For example a user can make a modern penny sound different than a pre 1982 copper penny by doing. The goal is to have detector set so targets of interest can be moreso identified solely by tone as you sweep your coil over them.

Exercise
Take a zinc modern penny and get your bottlecaps.
Sweep each individually using 14khz,,note tone (pay close attention),,ensure iron volume is set to 0.
Repeat sweeping each above,,except turn iron volume to level 3 (pay close attention to audio),,hear any differences. You should.

Next take the modern penny and place on clean ground,,,sweep and gradually lift coil while at the same time watch VDI in meter. Note coil height when ID starts reading rather poor(less accurate),,,next lower coil back to around 3" sweeping modern penny,,and purposely start moving coil forwards all the way out to the edge of coil,,,,note when the detector quits providing tone. Next move coil back so penny approachs back of coil's edge.

Now take bottle cap (not twist cap) and repeat above,,note differences...Younshould see some.
These are ways (these differences ) noted to flush out those pesky caps without digging.

Overload tone,,,learn what it sounds like,,,with detector turned on,,,lower the coil over a horseshoe or even an aluminum can. Remember the overload signal can be provided on both ferrous items and nonferrous items (bigger).

The impact with its 3 frequencies capability is different vs many other detectors.
Targets will respond differently depending on the frequency used while using this detector. Users should note higher frequency of 20khz is more responsive on lower conductors like gold rings,,nickels, tabs, foil,,,,where 5khz is more responsive on higher conductors like copper and silver coins and clad dimes, quarters, etc.
14khz is more of a one frequency does all good on this detector,,Jack of all trades frequency,,,it is a solid performer on mid conductive items like shot gun shells, bullets,,zinc pennies,,IH cents, etc. Good frequency for general hunting,,scouting.

Pinpoint button,,when it is pulled toward user,,this is actual pinpoint function,,detector will detect all metals when pulled. User can lay a coin on ground and hold coil over and pull pinpoint switch,,,note a depth reading is present. Users depending on what they prefer,,,refer to users manual to select inches or centimeters. Also note depth meter calibrated for stock sized coil only,,use of other sized coils,,,depth info will be in error.

Eliminating or reducing interference
User should note,,if they are getting audio noise with the coil held in the air (not sweeping over ground),,this is likely emi,,,user should try to eliminate or reduce this interference by doing a frequency shift-- refer to users manual for procedure. Btw it is normal ops to experience some interference when operating your detector in your home,,in a garage with flouresdent lights,,,even in close quarters to homes (external) that are supplied with power--lots of gadgets in them cause interference. Recommend new users to be aware,,cell phones especially if talking on will cause interference.

Ground balance is easy process on this detector,,follow owner manual.
Do balance over clean ground.
I recommend new users to use ground grab GB at first,,not tracking GB.
What about reground balancing after changing frequencies??
It is not always necessary,,,to do,,,but depending on soil minerals an depth of targets,,some small performance advantages may be obtained.

Minerlization meter,,,while ground balancing and bobbing coil,,,note reading in this meter,,,you see no more than 2 bars your ground should be easier to detect,,,3 or more this is where things will be more difficult. I will address both groups here,,,but will give more info for the latter since this is the more difficult.
Special note here-- mineralization meter is scale to stock sized coil,,meaning it is possible when using smaller sized coil to get less bars,,,and a larger coil to get more bars.
When trying to reference your soil mineralization,,good idea to use stock coil reference.

Default settings on this detector while in 3 tone,,,a user can observe some good performance,,,I encourage folks to get accustomed to using in default settings (except for tone breaks and tone) for a while.

Sweep speed,,,beginners a good pace,,,try to be able to swing right to left,,,actually say to yourself the following numbers 1001,1002,1003,,,if you can actually say all these while sweeping one complete sweep say right to left,,,good pace to start off with to get you started. And again say these numbers when sweeping back left to right,,,good pace to start with.

Users of this detector,,a pinpointer is not a necessity but I highly recommend.
Contact any sponsor here and they can fix you up with one.
Users of this detector should note,,,this detector will find objects shallower and deeper,,and will find worthy targets like coins for example near other nonferrous unworthy targets as well as nails and other ferrous materials. Users should note,,target recovery is because of this,,can be challenging,,,to actually retrieve the worthy find the detector sounded off on. I caution users here,,sometimes when the dirt is disturbed/removed,,Impact detector may stop detecting target.
There will be times even when the detector will not detect your worthy find in the plug of dirt even when it is removed and laying on top of the ground. Iron and other ferrous,,even other nonferrous items can block the detector from actually providing the same tone you heard originally before starting to dig target. So,,busting the plug,,,or using a pinpointer or both may be necessary for successful recovery.

I recommend users of this detector (especially those new to detecting) to go to your local hardware store and buy if you don't already have,,,each of the following,, dozen each of 10 penny nails,,12 penny nails,,16 penny nails,,and a few 20 penny nails. The goal here is get you to understand how this detector sounds while being swept over multiple nails,,and multiple sizes of nails. I encourage users to set up what I call booby traps for the impact detector,,,start out first using one nail and coin,,and vary positions and distance between nail and coin,,a nickel and a modern penny good choices here to use. After you experiment with one nail and coin,,add another nail to equation,,,and experiment. Don't be surprised to see some situations you come up with,,,,for their to be no detection of coin. Experiment with your iron volume setting.
Pay attention when there is detection,,,how does the tone sound,,what does the meter do or say. When you set your booby traps,,without disturbing nails,,,remove the coin and just sweep the nails in their original position and note any sounds made,,replace coin and listen again.
Try to find a clean place no metal to do your booby trap testing.
Now don't be afraid to say place multiple nails over a wider area,,and put a coin in amongst,,,then try and actually sweep around and detect the coin,,,approach from many angles,,,note differences.
When you learn what iron sound like with this detector,,,and learn how a "challenged" target sounds like,,,all down hill from here,,I promise.
Just remember when it comes to the possible scenarios you could be subjected to in the field,,,mind blowing,,,could be like numbers of possibilities of actual power ball number combinations. Advanced use of detector will come with time and exposure to more of these different scenarios. Learning the detector's tendencies around iron and nails very important. Users should note,,coil height can be very restricted here depending on your booby trap you've set up. Also pay attention to overload signal,,,if overload signal starts,,raise coil a bit,,,you may be able to detect your coin by doing. Also I highly recommend folks leave their disc level setting to level 3 here,,,with more experience lower disc may be able to be utilized,,,but to get a good baseline here for learning and understanding level 3 will do nicely. Doing these booby traps using nails and coin,,,user will see usually a lower than ideal vdi noted in meter. This is normal ops,,,and usually if a nonferrous target is really challenged the purity of the tone will be compromised yet still intelligent enough to tell you nonferrous target exist. Remember accurate ID on challenged targets far less likely the majority of time,,,you won't know what you are digging. Could be a gold coin,,tab,,silver coin,,,a lot of things,,,but remember this,,,Impact detector has some grand performance here just by telling user a nonferrous target exist in these challenging circumstances,,,,,many other detectors will NOT do this or do as good at providing intelligent audio alerting you.
Doing your booby traps,,,as they become more and more challenging for Impact note how slow you must sweep,,and how critical coil position is to actually get an audio period telling you the nonferrous coin is present. You should note,,,extremely small coil movement out of ideal position makes the signal a no go for hearing.
Now,,will the Impact detector always sound like it did when user was experiementing with the nails,,will the older iron beneath the ground sound exactly like the Impact did over the nails,,horseshoe your tried earlier?? Yes and no,,older iron and nails that has decayed somewhat,,user likely to hear what we call high tone falses,,,and these can confuse a new user of detector,,especially those new to detecting. If a person will dig some of the iron objects providing these falses,,,they will see a pattern develop and be better able to recognize while in the field detecting. This is directly tied to what I said above about learning what iron sounds like while using this detector.

Target ID
The shallower a target,,odds are it will read more accurate,,as the target deepens,,ID can become more erroneous. In 2 bars or less minerlized soil on meter ID seems to be very good to around 9"(on solo sitting nonferrous target),, real mild soil this distance may be higher here,, remember target size can affect this allowing Impact to ID correctly at less depth or even more depth.
In 3bars or more indicated on minerlization meter,,,Accuracy is provided at shallow depths vs milder soil.
Impact's tendency on deeper targets once a certain depth is reached (depending on levels of soil minerals) will read higher than normal VDI for a specific item(air test reading). And this higher reading,,a higher tone will accompany. An example,,,very possible for a deep nickel to read a high tone,,where as a shallower nickel likely to read mid tone (true vdi) using 3 tone since it is a lower conductor. Also remember a deeper junk target like a tab could also read higher and produce a high tone as well.
Persons using Impact,,,with experience they will based on their soil mineral levels will eventually see a pattern here,,,and can use this to guide them in the field while detecting. User should note default settings likely will cause Impact detector to not be the best it can be with ID at depth,,again with more experience and being able to use higher gain settings,,,this performance will materialize.

Will a person even super experienced dig a nail or piece of iron while using Impact looking for worthy targets??? You bet ya.
But with training and experience with Impact,,,and learning it tendencies the amount of iron likely will decrease over time.
I rate Impact above average for its iron handling abilities and giving clues to users when he coil is over iron or nail vs a nonferrous target.
Some things ferrous wise likely will sound good even to a very experienced user of Impact-- fence staples,,,bent nails especially those bent forming a 90 degree or less angle,,,users digging these,,,are on the right track,,not the wrong track,,I assure.

Notch filter setting
This is the most difficult setting to use/adjust.
It allows a user of detector,,to not hear targets based on the conductivity level (vdi).
Read the manual closely here for procedure,,,a suggestion here,,,if you try and use the notch filter get yourself a pull tab to practice setting up,,,in the event you get confused,,even think you have set this notch up incorrectly and get frustrated,,and can't figure out which way to undo,,,and you want to use your unit,,,but fear your improper settings of notch may cause you to miss some worthy targets,,,have no fear,,,simple,,,PERFORM reset to detector back to factory default settings-- refer to manual if unsure of procedure. This will get rid of any erroneous notch filter settings you may have done. Later when you have more time,,reapproach and try again with your notch filter settings.
User should notice looking at the top of the screen,,there if any notch setting is loaded,,,these marks will be seen at various points,,,,in default setting for example using 3 tone,,,user should notice only 2 marks in the area in the far left of screen. These 2 marks indicate disc setting not notch setting.

I recommend users of Impact detector to set themselves up a test garden,,burying at least the following targets,,,Clad dime,,pull tab,, modern penny,,bury these at different depths,,,like try 6",,7",,8",,9",,,,pick a clean place to do-no metal. Even bury a tab at 6" and a bottle cap.
Let's say you have run Impact detector a few days and understand what it is telling you,,you feel you are ready to step up,,to operate at more advanced levels.
OK
The test garden here will help you.

First higher gain,,,default setting of 85,, what happens when you up the gain??
Impact could depending have more interference audibly depending on emi levels.
Higher gain,,will increase volume of targets especially deeper ones.
Higher gain will allow Imoact detector to provide more accurate ID of deeper targets.
I still recommend users to say in 3 tone here,,,while they are experimenting with higher gain settings.
Very possible for user to run 99 gain settings using 3 tone,,and detector will be stable for operation in many environments.

Users of Impact should not get overly curious and try to make too many settings changes to too many things at once,,,instead use your test garden,,,and sweep your different targets at varying depths,,,adjusting only one setting at a time,,and note the affects of setting change,,,be it at increased or decreased levels.
Try to see where optimum signal is achieved for tone,,and even ID of target.

Using other frequencies
Very easy to select and change.
Important here for users to understand some targets due to their size and conductivity some freqs here will strike deeper targets vs other frequencies.

A brief description of what each frequency can do for you,,,based on your detecting sites.

5khz
This frequency being the lowest,,Users will notice some depth advantage on higher conductive things like silver coins,,copper, etc
Swing speed will be less forgiving while using in the ideal sense,,,using this frequency, Impact detector will not separate or unmask around iron and or nails as good as the other 2 frequencies.
Better use of this frequency in general is more open areas,,where less iron and nails are hiding.

20khz
This frequency is the highest,,users will note some depth advantage on the lowest and smallest of nonferrous objects.
Use of this frequency allows for Impqct to operate at max potential for separating and unmasking nonferrous objects in around nails and iron.

14khz,,as I have already stated,,a good general frequency,,,should also say,,even using Impact in 14khz,,it's separation and unmasking abilities,,even here are very good,,,better than a lot of other detectors,,,users will note,,when hunting heavy iron when comparing 14khz operation vs 20khz operation,,detector as far as audio,,the smoothness while sweeping over old buried rusty nails and iron is better using 20khz.

So what can changing frequencies do for you while using impact??
Impact having the ability here to give user other primary frequency groups to operate,,,,gives a user a better chance to find a useable frequency to use to detect in high emi areas. So changing freqs,,as well as doing frequency shifts give users more options to mitigate for interference.

Next,,here is some thing to point out,,and this will hopefully keep new users from some confusion.
A user can save a program mode with settings changes they like,,even pick the frequency.
At detector turn on,,this is the frequency that will be in use.
If a user changes modes,,,frequency in use at time of mode change will carry over to new mode.
I encourage users to always be mindful of which frequency is being employed when detecting,,,can cause some loss of performance depending on your site if not mangaged properly.

Will targets ID the same when Changing frequencies when swept??
Yes and no.
It will depend on if user has feature on Impact detector called Normalization turned on or not. Factory default setting is ON,,meaning ideally you sweep a coin,,,it will read the same vdi,,using all frequencies.
Remember I used the word ideally here,,,targets setting solo in the ground,,and at reasonable detection depths this will happen moreso.

Turning Normalization Off,,,refer to manual for procedure.
What is the advantage of having Normalization turned off?

It will force Impact detector to provide different VDi readings on the same target,,when swept with each individual frequency.
I encourage new users to take the items I mentioned earlier here and sweep each one using the different frequencies and note the differences.

This area here using Normalization off will be the area where the most confusion takes place for new users,,especially folks new to detecting.
Why??
Because with normalization When it is turned off,,,detector will report different vdi over same target when changing frequencies.
Remember your tone break settings???
These tone break settings will as far as audio produced,,,,will be altered,,,since for the most part sweeping the same target comparing 5khz and 20khz,,differences of approximately 20 points will be witnessed.
I encourage new users to get pen and paper and record their readings while sweeping various targets,,,when changing frequencies.
This info will be very beneficial later when you are deciding how to set up your tone breaks when using modes 3tone and 4tone.
So folks need to remember when changing frequencies and using 3 tone and 4 tone modes,,,new tone break settings will need to be accomplished if user desires similarly sounding tones while sweeping the same target using other frequencies.
SPECIAL Note here--- notch filter settings,,these too will be affected if a user changes frequencies with Normaization turned OFF,,so new notch filter settings will likely be needed.

So now users should realize using normalization off will change readings vdi wise on how the detector reports,,,can this CHANGE in reporting be used to be benefit a user???
Yes
This is one way a user can use Impact to actually ID junk targets like can slaw,,aluminum twist caps, etc.
A good general rule of thumb,,,if a target reads while using 14 or 20khz say upwards of 79 in the meter,,and user changes to 5khz,,and the target reports below 60,,,this specific target is likely a junk target. Now this is only a guide,,I encourage users to experiment while sweeping their test gardens and even things on topmofmthe ground,,as well as digging targets in the field.
Remember gold jewelry can read anything in the mid to lower conductive range,,,there are no real shortcuts to elimate other lower and mid conductive targets to just detect gold,,,only discrimation here is YOUR eyes.
Granted most gold likely won't be giving higher meter readings when swept unless deeper.

So what about the DI99 mode??
What is it,,and how does to work,,,and where can it be used.
This mode basically allows user to use Impact along with other settings even frequency changes,,but DOESN'T allow for tone break or tones settings.
Why??
Because the mode reports all nonferrous on a sliding scale,,lower tone for lower conductor ps and higher for higher conductors,,your tones are preset so to speak.
This mode is great for hunting iron laden places looking for nonferrous targets. using proper techniques.
Using this mode,,Impact will report very fast,,and some of this fast reporting is driven by coil sweep speed.
Hunting using this mode where there is an abundance of modern trash, where the user is trying to select only the higher conductive targets like coins to dig,,a keen ear is needed,,because Impact will sometimes report on the higher conductive targets nestled in amongst other lower conductive modern trash with a very short tone,,,using modes like 3 tone and 4 tone (with proper tone breaks set) here generally easier because they will put different buried things into groups for reporting tone,,,easier for new user to be alerted to higher conductor using. Remember turning Normalization off applies to this mode as well,,will cause same target to report differently vdi wise as well as tonally,,so a user since they don't have means to adjust tone break,,,no way to make a target sound similar or the same vs using 3 tone mode.

Back to coil sweeping
You have already read my recommendation for a coil sweep speed.
Folks should let what the detector is telling them as far as target density and amount/quantities of iron and nails drive their sweep speed.
It is not imperative for a complete side to side movement coil sweep wise to be done,,in the trashiest of areas,,,coil sweep span can be done with much shorter sweeps,,,with experience,,,you may find yourself only having a 6"-1 ft span at times when trying to find the goodies depending on the site.
More ground covered using Impact certainly not always the best recipe for success.
Reducing swing speed and coil span can decrease chance of information overload as your detector reports to you audio to you.
You must walk before you can run,,,you keep this in the back of your head when using this detector,,,in the long run,,your learning overall will be better,,and your future success better.
Be leery of hopping on the bandwagon with other users settings,,,stay true to form on your learning this detector.
As your experience grows with using,,you then can broaden your horizons on settings changes and trying different techniques while trying to make some incredible finds.

I can say based on first hand experience,,,some users at first may be dissapointed with their Impact's performance. Or feel the detector is too complicated for them to operate.
If you will give this detector a chance,,,and spend some time with it,,,it WILL perform.
To give example,,,even with as much as I have run Impact,,,light bulb started burning real bright around the 100 hour mark usage wise.
But I wasn't provided all the information I am providing for folks here.

The Impact detector can be made to perform more like a mediocre performing Vlf detector,,and actually be simpler to operate,,,,but this IMO shouldn't be any users future goal of using Impact detector.

New users, especially those new to detecting,,I highly encourage all at first anyway,,every good suspect target,,before you dig,,,if conditions will allow,,,continue to sweep targets while walking all the way around target,,,noting any differences in tone,,and meter readings/behavior.
This is very important,,,and with time,,will prove very useful in your overall ability to select targets in the future as far as being worthy or not,,,or nonferrous or not.

Here are the things,,,that with more experience using the detector,,,you will get better at doing.
Being able to recognize iron or nail for what it is.
Knowing whether or not the meter is reporting to you (how accurate) is it,,,how believable.
To even locate a target,,deeper or a heavily masked worthy target.
To be able to identify junk targets and thus not dig.

More intense learning will occur using Impact if a user will even rehunt their sites behind themselves,,,this is exactly what I did.
An area with more trash and nails,,,you keep hunting these,,,and you'll start to notice things,,,by sneaking out finds,,you will be incrementally subjected to having to find tougher targets and in doing so,,the grand performance of Impact will hit you. And will put a smile on your face.

I do encourage folks to hunt with their buds,,,compare target info,,even hunting with a very experienced detectorists using same or different model detector-good thing.
Now,,don't be dissapointed if one of your buds who are using a detector they are more experienced with to out do you.
You just keep things in perspective here,,,with time,,,you may just be giving your more experienced bud a few lessons in the future.

Users of Impact should eventually develop a regiment of things they watch and listen for to find,,or Identify a target.
This list here at first will be shorter,,,but as you grow with detector,,your list will grow with things you think about (check off) when deciding to dig or not.
You even after several hours of using this detector,,,your regiment of thinking when looking at a suspect target,,,will sometimes due to gut instinct be violated for one reason or another,,,and by doing you may surface a nice find or even a find of a lifetime.

There are no absolutes when it comes detecting,,,except for one.
You will never detect a worthy target unless you use your detector,,,this one I'm sure of.

Salt water beach hunters
Remember Impact not waterproof,,just the coil.
I have never hunted one iota on a salt water beach,,so can't give any detailed info.
My suggestion here,,start with default settings and work from here,,and just maybe some other users will also talk about what they are witnessing,,and you may get a tip or 2.

This is it folks.
The above information,,,if studied and applied will get you on your way using the Impact detector.
A lot to take in,,,but it will help you I think.

I didn't mention all metal use of this detector,,,and this was on purpose.
All metal use is more for more advanced users,,,personally I don't use much,,I find using the modes of 2 tone, 3 tone, 4 tone and Di99 modes to suffice for most of my hunting needs. They work too good for me to forage around using all metal modes.

There is talk of using these elsewhere on other detecting forums if interested,,,but I strongly recommend you get a handle first on all the above before choosing.

You will have dissapointents over time using this detector,,,you will have success too.

Folks should refer back here periodically and reread this,,,as well as their operators manual,,,,and take note of other users' data as well.

I have likely not unlocked all the things this detector can do.
I don't think anyone else has yet either.
But with time,,,all the users combined if we could pour all they know into one person's skull,,just maybe we would someday have a person who knows all there is to know about this great detector.

Remember this detector is internet updatable,,,very possible for the manufacturer to release update in the future.
Users need to say abreast of any update information.

Good luck and happy detecting.

Assembling isn't hard at all,,changing coils is not hard either,,,both are quite easy--just different than what folks are used to,,,even for Minelabbers.

After a couple times a doing,,,will be super easy process for folks.

Heck I wasn't even given any instructions and I pulled it off prett easily.
I'm not the sharpest tack around either.

Yeah, that's why I said tricky vs. hard. The through shaft coil cable approach is foreign to most unless you have a CTX 3030 or Garrett ATX. Thanks for laying that all out. Impact may be in my future. Like the small coil and had been eyeing the Relic. Reminds me of a Fisher F75 with the added benefit of multiple frequencies to choose from.

It may remind you of a F75,,,until you hit some iron pits,,,then it won't anymore!!

Relic detector great unit,,sizzles more on the iron though,,Impact smoother-- hence overall more intelligent audio provided while sweeping those rotten places.

One little question regarding when updating firmware.. will that mean changes in some modes and requires relearning ?

Well, an update could cause a few changes,,I sure ain't at Liberty to know what will come as far as the future goes.

You know,,your question here is actually a good one,,as a matter a fact,,I am going to add new thread here for Nokta's manufacturer's rep Dilek and let her respond.

One big reason why??
I am seeing some comments concerning the Xp Deus the new version 4.0,,,so watch my thread posted here and Dilek's response.
