Not yet.....been thinking about it......I'll wait for your review.

Get a good one (thick that is). Lost 2 brand new ones Deer hunting floating down a stream mid winter. They become 'brittle' with cold weather.

I just saw a guy with an inflatable catamaran a couple of days ago. Looked pretty cool. It's shaped like two canoes attached in the middle with a seat frame and a basket behind the seat for hauling stuff. I was thinking it might a good platform for water hunting with a hookah. He said it was a couple hundred bucks. I didn't ask where he got it however :BangHead:. When in doubt, check Amazon!

As kids we use to build a similar thing out of a big combine innertube cut in half. Seal the ends and you have a pontoon of sorts.

I used to have a nice Semperit inflatable kayak, made by the German tire company but I don't know if they still make or import them. It was a heavy PVC coated cloth kayak, not plastic. It did not have a keel and like most inflatables it had a lot of windage so on windy days it got blown around some. It was really heavy duty and took many years of beaching on sand or river rocks. Dang mice finally caused it's demise. I did use it to go out to islands in a big river and carried my detector and a passenger with theirs comfortably. I don't know about all those cheaper plastic inflatable kayaks, I am sure they have the same windage problem mine did, but if you don't have a lot of wind it should do OK.

After writing this I realized that the artillery shells and rifles seen in my name photo were carried from an island in an inflatable. Almost fifty years ago.

We have 2 Advanced Elements Inflatables that have worked out very well. Our rig is a customized high top conversion van and storage was a major issue while traveling/camping and exploring. Inflatable was the only option. Did tons of research. So far they have been excellent with no issues of tearing or leaking. I used to have a Zodiac and they are made of the same material which is basically rubber coated fiberglass type cloth which is extremely durable when used with some common sense. They only take less then 5 minutes to assemble and pump up and be in the water. Storage bag and paddle included. They also have different styles of sit in or sit on.We have used them all over Fl. They are not designed for whitewater but they would be fine in Class 1,2 water. They weren’t cheap over $500 each. But In the middle of the Glades an issue isn’t an option. they would not consider me a local out on the Cape - Im in western Ma.
depending on the route you take - chances are you may drive very close to me - I live like 300 yards from turnpike rest area
I have met other hunters and let them borrow map books and then met them on the other side rest stop to get it
back on their return pass. Cape is like 2 hr ride for me but in past years I have ventured out that way a dozen or more weekends
for a few yrs - I had a Ct. period where i was hammering some of their beaches for awhile - then i moved on to
R.I. beaches and hit down there every weekend for awhile - then I started to hit out Cape way in 2012 - I knew so
many TH'ers out that way and always thought it was cleaned out (except for the fresh drops) and I started killing
it out there with the older silver and gold - some stuff was farther out than most would go - other stuff was deeper
than most could go and other stuff was in fishing areas that others did not know were popular swim spots yrs ago
and hated getting all the fishing weights - 2012 was a great year out there and I kept at it out there for awhile

if you look at my other albums - I usually will say what was from Cape trips - Im not shy about that - wont say
exactly where - but then again most times it dont matter unless others are going to go out as far as i do and they
hunt all metal like I do and slow down like I do and get lucky sometimes like I do.
But if you give me a heads up few weeks before - Im sure could arrange a hook up - can certainly tell you where to go
eat and maybe a few spots to try - there maybe a few others here willing to hook up with you too. There are at very least
like 6 actual Cape Codders here I think :icon_thumleft:

Oh - you might be able to rent a kayak down there - there are alot of places that run rentals - if that might work better for you
than buying one - you might even be able to ask if there is any one here on the Cape that my loan you one
make a separate post maybe
