Re: Info on the new EXP SE Pro 11" coil

I read the Kellyco ad as saying it's only for the Exp. II and SE..

Explorer Professional 11-Inch Double D Search Coil
for (Expolrer II)(SE)

Has any one tried the Explorer Hip-mount Kit for
Explorer XS & S Series ??

Produced specifically for the World Famous Minelab Explorer detector series (XS and S models) to reduce the overall weight of the Minelab Explorer using a rugged ergonomically designed hip-mount. It is not designed or manufactured by Minelab. However; it is specifically designed for use with the Minelab Explorer detectors and is manufactured in the U.S.A.

Explorer Hip-mount Kit
Compared to $169.95
ONLY $124.00
Code #206-EHM

Thanks, Bill

Bill,

I saw that kit too. I hope they make one for the EXP II. My arm would sure feel a lot better after a full day of detecting if I could hip mount the unit.

Should be O.K. for the Quattro despite what they say.
Cons...not as deep as the S.E.F. coils (12x10,15x12,18x15 and 21x17) which came out first and are in European shops.
Plus...far lighter than even the smallest 12x10 S.E.F.

Re: Info on the new EXP SE Pro 11" coil

I would say it should work for the Quattro. I owned a Quattro. I wanted a 14" WOT coil. I remember when searching the Quattro and EXP II coils were the same order number. I also have a 5" Excellerator coil from my Quattro that works fine with the EXP II. I think minelab changes connector style with each group so if it don,t connect that is a good sign not to use it?

You've tried both?

Yes Iron Patch and the S.E.F. has a useful bit of extra depth....if you can manage the weight which has most people doing a sloppy sweep within an hour and I'm talking the small coil. Haven't got to try any of the larger SEF's yet as the people who have bought them have sold them on within days purely on the weight issue.

I used to hear the same thing about the WOT but now that hype has faded.

I'll use two hands and swing a lead coil if it will get me 2"-3" over the stock. Problem is I wouldn't believe it until I seen it, and being I don't plan to test em I guess I'll never know.
