Iron Butt Plate?

This was dug today on a site that had colonial activity up until the CW. Any help I would appreciate. Age? It is around 6.5" long.

My guess is a walk behind horse drawn plow share/point.

I plowed with one that resembled what you found that we called a bull tounge. We used it to open a furrow on top of a row to sow seeds in.

From what I know most rifle butt plates from around that period have 2 countersunk screew holes... none use a square hole like a plow share. And it doesn't look curved in a manor that would fit a shoulder, also most use 2 holes not one like I see on your find.
