So, detecting in a town first settled in the late 1600's in massachusetts I found a spaceship. Copper signal moderately deep down in a softball field about 6-10'' and I found this:

This is my spaceship. I believe it's an iron tool of some sort from long ago. It weighs almost two pounds. Any info or ideas would be great on identifying this relic. It may be recent, who knows!

Hello Oradden, I believe what you have is a 'tooth' from a sickle bar mower/ for cutting grass or hay- can you clean it up a bit? might help.

There must have been at least 15 of these posted in the "what is it" forum in the 7 years I have been on Treasurenet.

There's no doubt about it being a sickle mower guard. Yelnif ID'd it correctly.

One crash landed in Colorado

Found in the wheatfield behind my house. Dang things are landing everywhere. Oh well i've no time to ponder this phenomenon, been gone all week and got a long list of honeydues to get started on this morning.

I'll bet Orson Welles is behind this.
