✅ SOLVED Iron ring...barrel band?

So I dug this iron ring today. It is about one inch in diameter and maybe 1/4 inch wide. It appears to have a "foot" on one side and two other projections at about four o'clock and seven o'clock, if the foot was 12 o'clock. There was a home on the site dating to the mid 1800's. Anyone have an idea what it might be?

Are you certain the one you found is iron, it looks like brass to me?
