I am on vacation and didnt bring my detector, went for a walk and was looking at washouts below the cabins at a lake. Low and behold what did I find in the dirt! I will find out when I get back home whether or not it is real. 20190827_144517.jpg 20190827_153709.jpg

Good eye! That'd be cool if it was the real deal. Good luck and keep us posted.

Take a piece of white paper and make a small pencil dot on it. Place center of stone over the dot and examine it through a loupe. If the reflected dot pattern is symmetrical, then probably CZ; if irregular, then possibly a diamond.

Take a loupe and look for flaws.
If it has inclusions, it's probably real (see a jeweler).
If its flawless, it's probably CZ (see a jeweler anyway).
I hope it's real.

Stone doesn't appear to have a setting. If not, simple way to find out if real or not. Look through the pointed end. If stone still has glitter, then real. If cloudy or anything but clear, CZ.

It has a ring of dots around the cone end. Not sure if that is from when it was in a ring or not. I'm leaning to cz so when they tell me it's real I can faint.

Any jeweler can tell you.

Ya, but don't leave it with him. I found a very old ring with a 2 ct diamond in it and the wife went to a "friend" jeweler to see if it was real. They told her they were busy but to leave it and they would call. Well dontchknow they said it was a CZ but they didn't have CZ stones that far back. Well, it was a CZ stone when I got it back :BangHead:

I have looked at it through a 10x magnifying glass. Pretty sure it is cz but am going to use a diamond tester on it.
