A lot of recipes/pictures/videos wind up in the"random chat thread" Sure there are actual dedicated threads just for those subjects, but.......

dougchim has it going on!! Cast iron & stainless only way to go. Great aunt gave me one of her cast iron skillet's back in the '60's as a wedding present. Best cooker I've ever owned. Almost 100 years old now a days.
Stew last night in a dutch oven, local beef.
Hey guys, buy your beef & pork from the local farmers. Cut out the middle man. 1/2 hog, 1/2 beef and a whole deer, mmm.
If you had bought $1000 worth of groceries last year for preppin', you would have made 14% on your money. Think about it. Next year will be about the same. Maybe a 10% return. Can't get that from a bank.

Fully agree on the power of purchasing goods.
I have always thought of it that way even in business, if a person was going to use it then why not buy it at one time and get the discount.
Small co-ops really work well in sharing and rotation of food stocks.

This last year have raised and put our own chickens, beef, turkeys, and nothing beats the knowing what they were fed, and how they lived.
Just cooked up a 23lb turkey on Saturday, cut it all up yesterday into freezer packs, started the cooking of the rest fo turkey stock for soups.
Got 5 freezers-2 large side by side fridges-bar size for the pets-cold room for the root vegetables and preserves/dry goods. It's always a good feeling to be comfortable for a bit if it slides one day, and really it just takes a bit of hard work to make it happen.

Im growing Jalapenos right now. Plant was supposed to be a different chili. I'll admit I'm not disappointed as they're the hottest Jalapenos iv ever had!
My Butch T Scorpion is going great but none red yet. I went out last night to see if I could catch any night bugs on it. I was happy to see a gecko on the hunt for me 😀

I bought some heritage seeds and they seem to be like the old jalapenos, small, dark and hot.

You can get notifications on watched threads, or threads you want to watch..... and threads you have posted in, makes it really easy to keep track.
And bookmark threads you are interested in, then you can always find them. You need a computer to have that option....A lot of peeps use there phone I could never do that as most of the options are not there and a little screen....

Hi and thanks. I dont have a computer, had one years ago but gave up when where I am our phones did most of what I wanted. Also it cost doing so via computer more than the phone. Previously it was the phone cost more. I can now do everything I want, few limits, but at 1/4 of my previous cost. 👍😀
I took your previous advice and posted/will on the chat thread.
Cheers Viking.
