Don't think it's native American or ancient (looks to have remnants of paint). It's still a interesting find; is it made of stone?
Yes. it feels similar in texture to the other stones of that off-white color that have tumbled around awhile. We were picking thick glass that had been naturally polished and some old fossils out of the creek at the time.

It would be good to have photos of the bottom.

It looks like a planter decorative piece to me. Were their other small pieces in the area where this was found?

It is an interesting looking item and I would have picked it up too and kept it. But I agree with antmike915 its not likely an NA relic

It appears to have been painted several different colors, looks more like a modern piece than native American.

Something non Native American going on in its eye looks like maybe a red liner? Red paint? Seems too crisp and detailed for na too and not any kind of ancient patterning I’m aware of

Weird. with the flaking paint, maybe some sort of boat decorative thing?

Found this while searching the creek gravel in tennessee. Posted in what is it and they thought sturgeon of some sort and recommended posting here. What do yall think? Any way to identify or verify age and such?
Well at some point it was in salt water for some time .

Similar design to some incense holders in the google search. Curled tail like that...
A fancy boat coat hook?
Maybe it was mounted on a bong or something... I dunno.

What makes you think salt water? I'm in an area where there was major flooding not too long ago. Contents of whole houses was dumped into the creak in areas where the rain swelled everything. I was wondering if it was part of someones collection from somewhere else
