Just be prepared.... It takes a while to get used to! Make sure you get a screen cover.... Also after a while a second coil will be needed....maybe an 8" Minelab and a 5" or 6".... (Sunray x-5 or 6" Excelerator) :) Lots of great support across the forums... Have you tried your friends Se? If so that helps...

The first few times I used my Se I thought ...wow these sounds sure are different than the Dfx.... But as others continue to tell me learn the tones more than looking at the screen great advice! I have really focused on the digital numbers with both the Se and Dfx... I did learn the tone id on the dfx and used the digital numbers as a back up....

Now finally I am using the smart find screen on the Se and starting to use the digital readings as a back up..... I have been taking it very slowly .... My main advice with the Se would be to swing extremely slow.... After I use the dfx for a hunt usually takes me 10-15 minutes just to slow my swing down and get in rhythm with the Se on the next hunt ....

congrats on that badboy,no doubt you two will be very happy together    ...you owe me a beer

Yea, I have tried his SE. I know to swing at a snails pace. I am prepaired to do all of these things for the deep treasures. Yea, everybody is telling me to learn the tones and not to even learn the numbers (so I don't be lazy and stop listening to the sounds). Thanks for all the great advise reinforcement.

I just got one yesterday but I need to order the pro Coil ,, anxious to get out and try it .. guzz1

Cool!

I had a brand new SE last Christmas but let some people talk me into sending it back in exchange for another machine. I wish now I had kept it.

I plan to stop buying other toys and save up for the SE Pro. Most likely get it during the winter slow sales time. Some dealers will give a great deal at that time.

I love the GT but just have to go all the way if you know what I mean?
