Kennedy Stamped Proof Half

Found this today CRH'ing. Any ideas other than someone defaced a perfectly good proof? The stamp on the left says 1960 and the one on the right says 1980.

Those were stamped and sold as a set outside the mint. BTW, that looks like a "P" mint mark on your coin. I suspect it has been plated. Not a proof.

Enamel7 is right. I have found about 10-12 of these, some gold plated some silver plated. Your particular coin signifies the year Kennedy was elected and the 20th anniversary of his election.
