King George II and some other guy

After wandering the woods for an hour and nearly getting lost, I found the 1700s cellar hole I was looking for. I did not have a lot of time, so I loosely gridded and dug only high tones. I managed two coppers, both within 10 feet of the hole and about six feet from each other. The first is a 1739 King George II. This is my first one with complete lettering and a date. I wish I could give it a better cleaning, but I am afraid the delicate patina will flake off. The second one was spent nearly smooth. However, I can see the back of a right facing portrait close to the left edge, so I am guessing it is a late 1600s William and Mary, but who knows. Thanks for checking out my post. Thanks for the info. The reverse is still covered with a hard thin layer of dirt, but I suspect it’s blank.

Thanks. You’re right. I have been fortunate enough to find four coins that I could attribute to the 1600s, all of which were mostly slick. Still fun to find.
