It's soaking in vinegar.

I was able to clean it up a bit with the vinegar soak and a wire wheel. Looks more like a knife to me. Like a butter knife.

Needs to soak longer, maybe use a chisel or paint scraper to knock off some of the thicker parts and bumps, it’s still hard to tell

Yep looks like a butterknife handle to me as well

That's the best I could get it with an air powered wire wheel. I have it soaking again.

I'm calling it. It was a table /butter knife. The longer vinegar soak ate away more of what was the blade.
