Howdy folks,

I've been getting out a little, but nothing really worth posting recently. Yesterday I finally knocked an item off my bucket list. I was working up in the mountains and ran into a fellow working on a gold claim. He kindly invited me to come detecting once I knocked off work in the afternoon. The nuggets came out of some old workings. I was impressed that the Nox was able to find such small pieces in mineralized soil. I was running prospector mode 1, factor settings. The large nugget rings up a solid 6-8 VDI and was 3-4 inches deep. The small nugget was about 2-3 inches deep and rang up as a 1-2VDI. As you can tell from my sideways photo, I was on cloud nine. I've been wanting to detect a nugget for YEARS. Finally able to cross that off.

Also, I found the nice local trade token in a lawn on Sunday. It came from a saloon/retail liquor store. I found some advertisements for the place in the local newspapers from 1908-1913.

Thanks for looking,
-NZ49er

You do seem to get around to a lot of different types of sites.

Very nice. Congratulations

Keep looking and dig those small, low numbers. They'll show up. I'm surprised at the number of nuggets I've seen posted from yards and parks.
