I'm new to the etrac. Day 1 with it lead to a barber and merc...day 2 found an OD nickel and a merc. I wasn't about to get cocky because I know that there's quite the learning curve with a minelab. Last two hunts amounted to 8-9 hours of cladfesting (did find a 5-wheat penny spill...kinda cool). And not nearly as much clad as I'm used to digging...and all fairly shallow. Like i'm prone to do, i got frustrated. Today, after the second 5 hour cladfest in a row, I came home. Not quite dejected, but definitely disappointed. At 5:30 tonight I ask the wife if it's ok to take one more last second shot before sundown. I take a 5 minute ride to a park where i've pulled lots of wheats, but no shiny. First hole and bam, a merc about 4" down. It's an ugly ducking (has some sort of white gunk on both sides) but it was one of the more satisfying finds yet. 15 more minutes yielded more clad and a wheat.

It is a silver coin non the less. You are a bear to hunt that long, but results are results.

nice find Murray, looks like you are getting it in.any silver coin would have made my day today lol -HH

Good job.

I have yet to find a silver dime. I've found silver quarters, a half dollar, and a full dollar though.

I hope to change that tomorrow. I hope some of your luck rubs off on me. :)

Sweet finds have you tried running TTF in iron infested places. I run my Etrac in TTF 90% percent of the time only places I don't use TTF is open fields wirh very little iron and parks with a bunch of can slaw and pull tabs

Nicely done Murray,
The E-trac will definitely let you know when the coil passes over silver. You will not get tired of the E-trac experience. Congrats on the silver that you have found so far and order a whole bunch of coin folders. lol

It's the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes. That's the "witching hour" and where I've always found my best. Congrats on finishing strong

Be patient nothing good comes easy once you learn it just like me and my At pro takes time. Ill be waiting for your posts and lots of good finds, Im wanting an E trac cantg afford it yet . Good job
