Lead Sabot?

Found this on private land near the battle of New Market Virginia. Its lead and looks like part of the sabot from an artillery shell. What do you you guys think?

Yes, that's exactly what it is. Nice find. Here's one I found in the Valley a few years ago

No lines I can see diggervet, it’s basically flat and was smooth on both sides.
