Salesman sample maybe...
Kind of thought that as well, then most of the samplers were almost exact miniatures of the real item sold.

I would have thought dolls house item.
Good thought and it had entertained that as well. Looking on line at the doll house versions, they were pretty close in looks to the real thing.

I am thinking doll house related as well.....looks like pops melted down some roundballs for his little girl....kinda folk artsy.

I have dug these miniatures before and from my understanding, most were actually working irons made for small work like cuffs and collars.... but they are all made of iron, not lead. That is what makes this one a bit different.

Here's a stretch, Luhr Jensen's prototype deep six diver for trolling.
From a mid 1800s site?
2 modern pieces of foil, 2 tractor nuts and a grease hub cover.
Everything was early Victorian or earlier

Too big for a Monopoly piece.
I agree now that I look at it… I should be sure to have some coffee before I comment in the morning… the size is too big for a game piece… I believe in past searches for iron information I stumbled across small ones that they would sell with big ones the claim was they were for children to mimic the full size version
