Found this jug today along with what appears to be an old luggage hinge. Can anyone tell me if they know of modern repro that looks like this? I am suspect becuse outside of the usual weathering, this jug came from a riverbed packed in mud and stone. Don't know how many years it could have stayed intact there, if many at all. It is in very good condition considering it's environment.

There are many modern jugs that resemble yours. Is the lid a plastic- like screwcap with a cork? Any writing anywhere? Either way it makes a nice display. I usually don't have much luck in finding old "keepers" in the rocks. Unless it came loose somewhere in the river and washed up recently. H.H.
Dave.

That's an old brass lid by appearance, just got it loosened up and it has a cork lining with a hole in the center. Perhaps for a spritzer or a wick. I'll have to check modern oil lamp repros but it looks authentically old.
