Log Cabin & Tall Ship buttons, Eagles and flowers too!

Dug these two buttons this morning with 18 other buttons today plus 7 others last week. Last week were some early flats, two eagle artillery's and one rifleman's button (c1812). Today's digs provided me with two new buttons that I've only ever seen a picture of, now I have one of each for myself In addition, I got 3 more eagles today Also came up with a broken Tombac button.

The first unknown button one is a tall ship with sails button, it is approximately 7/16 inches across. The 2nd is a tiny cabin button, approximately 1/2 inch across. I don't know what they're for or their true age.

I think I've seen these online but now I can't find anything. Does anyone know? The time period of this field is c.1800-1850's. The best I can come up with for the cabin is possibly a William Harrison 1840 Campaign Button but mine doesn't have the rim around it (see pics). I cannot read the backing on either of these two.

Great buttons! I especially like the log cabin button & the tall ships. Sometimes replica tall ships sail along our CA coast. Hopefully someone will give you more info on your many buttons. HAVE FUN! Andi

The ship button is a Jacksonian button. Civillian.

Some great looking buttons there. Those one piece eagle A buttons have some nice crisp detail, which isn't always the case with those buttons. James is right on the money about the ship button. No doubt the log cabin button is a William Henry Harrison button from the 1840 Presidential campaign. There were a lot of varieties.

Thanks everyone! A Jacksonian Button! Well that's the first I've heard of that. Learn something new every day And you're sure that the log cabin is a campaign? That's awesome for me, all I've ever got was flats and very very few military. This field has given me 7 military buttons already where as it took me 9 yrs just to get my first one to begin with. I'm now in my 12th year.

Great hunt! Yes, that Log Cabin Button is from Harrison. My wife is a decedent of his.

Thats a nice haul of buttons and its nice to no what that ship button was as I found one 2 years ago in a corn field

Great buttons, you pulled some nice ones! The eagle with A on the shield are pre Civil War era Artillery coat buttons.... UB5 Early Gilted Artillery 1-piece Coat button

I suspect you will find a few more of those, maybe someone left a jacket laying there, if so there should be cuff size ones there too.
