Long Shot on a NC Relative

This is the longest of long shots but here goes ...

My great^2 grandfather was Hansel Wilkes. He was married to Anna Leah Tew (perhaps her second marriage) and both lived in Sampson County, NC. I can find info re: Anna Leah but it is as though Hansel was spit out of the mouth of G.d into Sampson county. I can't find anything about his parents.

Again, I doubt that anyone out there has any info but, if you do, drop me a post.

Hanse was likely misspelled on many documents like census records. I can take a peek in my spare time. I have a lot of searchi g experience.
