Found this a few years back, size when closed is roughly that of a 6 inch sub sandwich.

This is interesting, but I think we would need some better pics to help identify it. :icon_scratch:
Maybe take a few pics outside in natural light, dimensions would be helpful as well.

Snuff is a smokeless tobacco made from finely ground or pulverized tobacco leaves.

Not buying it, Have you ever seen snuff? Looks like heroine to me. Snuff probably started to fade when opium parlors became prevalient.

Then those old timers probably started smokin it.

There's many types of snuff. Snuff that a person put the inside of the lower lip.
Powdered snuff could be snorted.
I never chewed snuff but I use to sneak it in for an old fellow in the Psych. ward at the hospital where he spent his winters. (late 70's early 80's)

So you have actually seen heroin?

I am talking about the powder boxes, not talking chaw.
Have you ever tasted ground tobacco? I doubt people would be putting that up their noses Raw.
That was probably what the recipe was in the opium dens. tobacco/opium.
Now you have learnt something.

Snorted it for a short time in the 70's, but the sinuses didn't approve. Never cared much for the lip snuff, too strong.
