Todays finds in a corn field in Wisconsin, can any one help me ID the large coin and small button near the dime? The coin is 1831 and says GULILL__US DEI GRATIA on the front and BRITANNIA on the rear. The button has an eagle and is small. Thanks for the help, I think this is my best hunt and just can't get enough of this hobby.
You have some really good finds there. I’m especially fond of that coin and eagle button. Congratulations

Woops: Demano beat me to it...

Anyways: Looks like you've got a King George IV penny. Not a big date range on that one. Nice find and that eagle button came out beautiful. Might be some good civil war relics in there...

Heck yeah buddy you popped a copper in WI, the eagle button is a civil war era cuff button general service

Nice finds for Wisconsin indeed. Large cents don't come up too often nor do CW relics. As far as cleaning goes just soak in olive oil for a few days and gently remove dirt with a tooth Pic. It takes time so be patient.
