It rings 11-14 over my coil but if I put a penny dime or quarter in it it rings solidly for them..
Nickel not so much..

It was an old garden rake thing..
And I put a float on the handle..

I tend to agree with the above but like your innovative approach. Maybe give it an exoskeleton (ridges) and glue something to the leading edge to keep it rigid as well.

I really like your industrial back scratcher in the last image. :headbang:

ps. When did you sneak in and grab my coffee "can".:coffee2:

If you are going to hunt beaches, invest in a good scoop, and don't look at it as money gone, you can pay $250 for a good scoop and sell the same scoop 5 years later for $200 all days long and that doesn't count the jewelry you find. I have sold several scoops for at least 80% of what I paid for them.

Best advise.. buy an actual beach scoop made for what it’s actually made for and don’t rely on a plastic container. Plastic will not hold up at all and your day will be over before you know it. I seen a guy make one out of hard PVC plastic and it works in soft sand but I wouldn’t even bother with that either. Metal scoop “go anywhere” and don’t look back, it’ll last you years and maybe even for life if you get a real good one. Cheers!

You can buy a great scoop for $250 and sell it 5 years from now for $200 all day long, end up spending $10 a year to have a great scoop, not counting the gold finds.
