Went to do a quick hit on my spot after work, unfortunatly the ice was locked in. However, there have been rumors of 6 Bald Eagles hanging around, well I photographed two. I apologize for the picture quality, it was from my cell phone.

it's a good thing they have those big, red arrows above their heads or you might not have known where they were!

Yeah I do apologize for that, I did it with my Galaxy cell cam. I may make another run tomorrow, I will bring my SLR then.

I am not much of a birder, but all the people around have been taking a ton of pictures with telescopic lenses. My dumba__ had a cell phone camera. I tried to crop and zoom the pics, but it became to pixelized.

There making a big come back in wisconsin i see them daily in the summer there population is exploding

Bald eagles are awesome.

Nice! Thanks for sharing...

Must be wonderful to see several bald eagles together.:icon_thumright: I've only seen one bald eagle but got very good look as I was sitting near a cliff edge high in mountains and the eagle flew past below me. Living here now on hill above the CA coast, we're fortunate that several great blue heron nests are on treetops nearby. Sometimes we see as many as nine blue herons flying quickly past in a loose line. At times, a heron flies right over the patio of our apartment, so close we can nearly count feathers. Less often down by the rocky part of ocean shore, we see white egrets fishing. If there's existence in a future life, I'd prefer to be a bird. HAVE FUN! Andi

They are an awesome sight. I just saw one a few weeks ago, as they are starting to move into our neck of the woods.

I had 3 bald eagles circling overhead when I was out hunting Sun afternoon near the river. I see them all the time around here in eastern VA.

People our age still find it awe inspiring to catch a glimpse of these beautiful birds. We are lucky enough here on the Susquehanna River to see them more and more often. There are many nesting pairs around now.

Same here with the Hudson Valley, today I must have spotted 7 plus 3 Golden Eagles and few of the stupidest birds ever, the Turkey Vulture.

Pretty cool, it's always a treat to eagles.

If anybody ever comes to Minnesota, I'd suggest the going to the national eagle center in Waseca. You'll experience so many eagles in door and HUNDREDS outside.
If you've never seen a golden eagle, you can take a picture next to one for only five bucks. The golden is one impressive bird!!
At first I was so scared to get next to it because of its size! The instructors said that a eagles claw grab is just as strong as a hyenas bite.

Red tail hawks, osprey hawks, and bald eagles are in my yard all the time, dead tree out back is a perfect hunting perch for them. In the spring the eagles and ospreys are in very high numbers around my house and the river bank nearby my house. The fresh water herring spawn has them all diving and flying all around my house. Gets pretty noisy with the ospreys fighting over fish all the time. There are sightseeing boats that people pay big money to see what I see every day. Sweet spot for a birder, too bad they don't collect trinkets like crows do and drop things all around my house. Ha lol, I do enjoy sitting on the river bank and fishing while I watch all the action.

Last spring I decided to take the "back way" into town. Just left my driveway and went about 100 yds. around a sharp curve @ about 15 mph. There sitting on a fence post is a full grown eagle not 20 ft. from me. First wild one I can remember seeing. It was huge... full grown, bright yellow feet with head all white. I stopped and we stared at each other for a whooping 15-20 seconds before it flew off. It flew down the dirt road the way I was headed and when it made a turn off the road I was a large feather fall from it when it flew into the woods. I looked and looked and when I came home I took the ATV back and looked some more.... NEVER found it.

We have a good population of Golden Eagle in the Valley area's. I've seen one in 10 years. This one was standing on a recently deceased cow. It would have made an awesome picture, but of course, I didn't have a camera. I'm not really a birder, but I am certainly aware of the presence and I enjoy them.
