But why would you think you would never find one in NC? Actually, NC is the one place where you should expect stuff like that. My family settled there in the 1720s, so I know it's got some history to it.

That last item is a duplicate of one that I found here in SE Missouri, also on an early site. I guessed from size, weight, and shape that it might be a weight for scales....but I don't know for sure. What do you think? Have you had anyone tell you that they know what it is?
