Yesterday, I spotted two old yards that had been partly excavated beside a tire shop. It appeared to have been done for the shop's benefit, so I stopped inside to ask permission to search the excavation. This came easily, so today I went over to begin the hunt. It was worth every bit of time and effort I put into it! This place turned out to be a wheatie farm, yielding twenty-five in all, with ten in the teens, 20's and 30's. I found two Mercs (42 and 43), a 52 Roosevelt and a weak date buffalo nickel as well. The best find of the day, after ringing as a half dollar, was a nice 32 Washington quarter. Unfortunately, none of my little D or S friends appeared on the back, but I'm not complaining. Rounded the day off with about 70 cents in clad, so it was a "tiring" afternoon.
