This is a good reason to wear bright clothes when metal detecting, it makes you stand out and a coin never gets scared off if it sees you coming.

NO!!!..................This is a GOOD REASON to PACK and SHOOT BACK!! If he was in a field there is NO REASON he was NOT SEEN AS A HUMAN FORM. I believe someone deliberately shot him for the fun of it and if that is the case, either a mentally deranged adult or a punk kid itching to shoot something!

I was threatened to be shot by an irate land owner for trespassing even though
I showed him a permission slip but guess what, it wasnt from the land owner or
anyone that could give permission to be on that land. He was furious and said the
next time I will shoot you. I thanked him for not shooting me and left. Just shows
you never know if you are actually talking to the owner or some frigging moron
when you are asking for permission to detect.
