Metal detecting in actual Pirate haunts and whale watching!!

Hi!

Who can resist metal detecting actual pirate haunts and whale watching at the same time? Well where I live in Atlantic Canada here in Newfoundland...You can!! Here is a pic of an area where pirates preyed upon fishing villages to force (even though some volunteered) Newfoundland fisherman who were considered to be among some of the best sailors in the world to serve them on their ships.

The day before I was in this very location and you could see many whales..but I wish I had my camera..cause I would have had some great pics to show you...The next time I return...hopefully the whales will be there and will be able to get some shots for you to see....Good hunting everyone!

Can someone tell me how to reduce the size of pics...so they don't appear to be so large? Really would like to know when I'm posting pics! Thanks

Several photo editing programs will reduce your photos I use "Irfanview" it is a free download and pretty easy to use. Here is your beautiful photo reduced, thank you for sharing.

Beautiful view. It must be hard to stay focused on the task at hand with such a beautiful backdrop. My profile pic was taken when I was distracted from the task at hand. A mother and calf North Atlantic Right Whale were about 30 yards from shore at the time.

If you were to continue walking out straight out there...you would come to the edge of a steep cliff with a 200 foot drop....That's why I didn't go close to the edge...Gives me the heebie jeebies..
