- Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!

It's a religious medal, and I'm thinking from either Catholic or Greek Orthodox.
No idea what it's made of. Any markings or stamps on it that

Good find. It's definitely Catholic. The bottom limb of the cross includes the design for what is known as the "Miraculous Medal". That design was approved by the Catholic Church in 1836 following the apparitions experienced in 1830 by the French nun Catherine Labour? in Paris. There's a Wiki page here:

The design has been in use (across Europe in particular) ever since. Some of the medals or items including the medal design have a date of 1830, but that's the date for the apparitions, not the item. They all date to 1836 or later.

Nice find indeed. The iconography isn't Orthodox, Greek or otherwise, although the shape might lead one to think in that direction. I believe Red-Coat has it correct.
