Palm county law does not allow detecting their city and county parks or beaches, but you can detect in the water.

Does anyone know if metal detecting in Palm Beach County Florida parks is permissible? I have spent over an hour on the phone talking to Palm Beach County officials and no one seems to know the answer. I don't want to get in trouble, nor do I want to present a negative image of metal detectorists. Thanks
. I have detected at the main Palm beach public beach several time without any problems.
