Does nobody read the stickies and things before the actual forum? First we need some information from you! Where did this come from? Approximately. SE Texas,North Borneo, you get the picture. How much does it weigh, exactly,in grams or ounces,or pounds or kilos if it,s that heavy. How wide and thick is it? Place something of known size next to the pic, like a coin or a ruler. What makes you think it,s a meteor?Did you see it fall, dug up? Any info you can provide will help in a ID. There.s three other forums that may be more appropriate for this. There,s a dedicated meteorite forum,a rocks and gems forum, and the what is it forum.Probably get more exposure in the meteorite forum to find out what you want to know. Be sure to read the stickies and informational threads at the top of the forum before you post, they are most helpful. Good luck! Welcome to Treasurenet.

Hi thank you for the reply, I apologise I am new to this forums and it’s my first Thread, next time I will read the stickies and will post according to them! To be completely honest I post this for my friend who can’t speak or read English, he found them ( there is a couple on a total weight of 12 kilograms) on his backyard located on Hebron ( Israel/ Philistine) He heard a noise and went out into the yard and discovered the stones scattered around. I am waiting for more pictures from him including Comparison of the stones near hand and coins, also thank you for the forum rooms suggestions, I will check it out!

You,re on the right track now! Every one,s new at some time so no apology needed.I don,t know much about those so I can,t help but am happy to point you in the right direction Plenty of folks who can help though so be patient and they,ll be along. Thanks for taking the suggestions in the right light. Some folks go ballistic when you try to help so it,s great to see someone not do that.May your time here be productive!

Not a meteorite. May want to ask the neighbors why they are chucking rocks into your yard.

I am not a certified expert, but fairly certain that is not a meteorite.
>i would think a meteorite that size would leave a fairly large impact hole or indention in the ground. Was there one? Not sure I would call it a crater but should have dug in the yard pretty good.
>I do not see a fusion crust from entry and travel through our atmosphere. It would get extremely hot.
> any sharp edges would be burned off to a smoother shape on entry and travel to earth.
Sorry they do not appear to be meteorites. Thanks for posting and welcome to Tnet.

Hi everybody, so a A glittering meteor landed in my yard...
tn_md.gif
I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard gbro! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Not a meteorite...
tn_metal_detector.gif
gbro - you might consider browsing METEORITES for additional information on Meteorites

If you still feel you found a Meteorite - you might consider posting your pictures on METEORITES for more exposure.

Thanks for sharing your finds.
