My first day out relic hunting this season in Virginia and the good Lord blessed me with a good button at a local park that had NY troopers encamped back in the day. After 5 hours of digging trash pull tabs, foil and crushed cans, I decided to head into the woods that butted up to some houses. 15 minutes later I got a good button signal 72-74 on my XP Deus and I was thinking button all the way. At about 4-6 inches down I dug a Mississippi A Coat. Ironically I dug a Coat Mississippi I button last year about 30 miles west where I dug this button. The good buttons are there but you have to dig a lot of trash at times to get the good ones.😎 happy digging diggers!

Congrats on a great Civil War button. My detecting partner dug one up here in Illinois in a field we were hunting about a dozen years ago. You just never know where things will show up.
